Healthy Food Choices
We eat to
nourish our body - a fact that is often overlooked. People get so consumed
with calorie counting and fat grams that they forget to consider whether
they are receiving the nutrients their mind and body need.
Signs that
you may not be nourishing your body properly include, but are not limited
to, headaches, poor memory, heavy limbs, fatigue, nausea and poor skin.
The right mix of healthy food increases energy levels as well as reduces
risks of developing illness and serious disease.
Don't
Forget to Water
Just as plants wilt when they don't get enough water, essentially so do
humans. We miss the many signs of dehydration (dry mouth is the last sign),
causing the cells in our body to be less efficient. As a result, we have
symptoms that equal disease and are treated with medicine. Medicine only
makes the body more dehydrated. And the older we get, the more the water
content of the cells in our body decrease. Under temperate conditions,
the human body needs 1/2 ounces of water per pound of body weight m-i-n-i-m-u-m
in a 24-hour period. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs, you need a minimum
of 75 ounces of water daily.
Healthy
Food for a Healthy Body
No
need to change your diet drastically to reap the benefits of a healthier
body. It's easier to make little alterations here and there - including
more vegetables and fruits with your meals - than to drastically shift
your eating patterns. With healthier foods and plenty of water, you will
feel better and more energetic.
