Yoga - A Way to Improve Your Sex Life and Satisfy Your Partner
If
you find it hard to be naked in front of your loved one, don't have enough
flexibility, are embarrassed to keep the lights on while making love or
can't last as long as you would like, let's face it... your sex life is
hindered. But not to worry. There are things you can do to improve your
sex appeal. One of them is to start practicing yoga - naked. Why naked,
you ask? Nude yoga has many benefits...
Practicing
yoga naked is a way to get in touch with your body and the intimate parts
of yourself. Nude yoga can help improve your sex life, thus increasing
the level of satisfaction experienced by your partner.
In nude
yoga, you start by taking off your clothes consciously and mindfully,
creating a sacred space for your practice. You honor the preciousness
of your body and of those bodies around you. There is no judgment, no
competitiveness. Only appreciation for the naked body.
At first,
you may be distracted by the notion of practicing yoga in the nude. With
regular practice, you can overcome this and other anxieties, which directly
relate to your ability to let go when having sex.
The main
objective during your sessions of naked yoga is to help you feel free
in your body. You learn to appreciate your physical body - it's beauty
and imperfections. When you feel good about your body, you are less inhibited
during sex.
Yogis believe
sexuality is stored in the hips and pelvis. Poses like Bound Angle (where
you sit on the floor with the soles of your feet touching) and Wide-Legged
Forward Bend increase blood flow to the hips and pelvis, enhancing your
sexual sensitivity and pleasure.
Yoga postures
improve sex by strengthening the core muscles around the genitals, thus
increasing sensation, duration and comfort. When are you are in a posture,
place your awareness on the perineum, the muscle between the genitals
and anus. Learning to isolate the perineum increases your sexual pleasure
and that of your partner.
“I
can keep it harder way longer than I used to and, my yoga practicing girlfriend
now squeezes tighter and longer,” says a male yoga student.
Postures
that require you to lift your perineum can strengthen the pelvic-floor
muscles the way Kegel exercises do. The intensity of your orgasms heighten
as you become more aware of how to manipulate this muscle.
Also, yoga
poses make you more flexible and increase your endurance. Imagine what
you could do if your hips were less tight and your back bend was perfected.
How
does nude yoga help improve your sex life?
- Increases
flexibility so you can easily flow into challenging positions
- Builds
your strength and stamina
- Makes
you more confident in and out of bed
- Helps
open your body
- Taps
into your sexual energy
- Allows
you to feel free and enjoy your body
Yoga teaches
self-acceptance. If you love your body, you are more comfortable naked
and less inhibited during sex. Feeling at ease with your body and bending
it in different ways is sexy.
Iyengar:
The focus of Iyengar yoga is on body alignment. Props such as blocks and
straps allow beginners to flow in asanas more easily. As oppose to moving
quickly from pose to pose, Iyengar focuses on holding poses over long
periods.
Hatha:
Hatha is a general term that embodies all forms of yoga. Courses defined
as Hatha Yoga are generally slower and more gentle, making it another
great course for beginners.
Vinyasa:
A term that means breath-synchronized movement, Vinyasa is based on a
series of poses called Sun Salutations. The focus is on the breath during
the salutations, connecting it with the muscles that are being challenged
and stretched.
Kundalini:
One of the purposes of Kundalini yoga is to free energy in the lower body
by moving it up. Kundalini uses fast, repetitive movements and the breath
to move deeper into each pose.
Bikram:
Bikram yoga is practiced in a heated room (95-100 degrees), which allows
for every muscle to relax and deepen into the series of 26 poses. With
the room hot and humid, sweat pours from every pore, cleansing the body
of impurities.
Ashtanga:
For the more experienced yoga student, Ashtanga is a series of fast-paced
poses that are always practiced in the same order. It is a demanding practice,
sometimes referred to as Power Yoga, with non-stop flow from pose to pose.
Tantra:
Perhaps the most misunderstood yoga style, Tantra is not about sexual
indulgence. Rather, it deals with discovering and stimulating sensual
spirituality. It works with the highly charged kundalini energy and therefore
should always be guided by a teacher.
